"Unlike other design firms, the Solarek Studio relishes the opportunity to provide conceptual ideas, from which multiple designs spring forth." said Joshua Holmes of Foreign Affairs when asked about the campaign. "It is refreshing to work with a designer who doesn't need explicit directions for concepts & designs."
For the advertisement at left, the primary message is that online benefits are free. The Solarek Studio accomplished this goal by coining the phrase "Receive a FREE Upgrade," which has a double meaning in the ad set in the environment of an airplane. Friends of the High Line Category: Print Promotions
Friends of the High Line is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and reuse of the High Line - a 1.5 mile, elevated railway that runs along the West Side of Manhattan.
The Solarek Studio has volunteered with FHL since 1999--before it was even a legal organization. We also donate design servers to FHL, such as this poster at left. We are pleased to see the project receive approximately $80 million in financing. Ground will break on Phase I this fall. Please visit the site: www.thehighline.org.
The poster at left is 8 feet tall by 3 feet wide. The poster's objectives are to 1) serve as a ground-level map for pedestrians to see the High Line's geographic path; 2) explain its past and the future 3 phases of construction, and 3) share the beauty of 'virtually standing" on it, which one has when standing next to the massive poster.
